In The Dock

'In The Dock' has been launched to inform the public of the work of the criminal justice system across West Yorkshire. Following a risk assessment, adults given custodial sentences at the county’s crown courts will have their names, photographs, details of the crime they have committed and the court’s sentence published on these pages.

Additionally, adult convictions at Magistrates courts which are of significant public interest may also be included.

Wilkins a 34 yr old male from Ossett was sent to prison for 18 months
At Leeds Crown Court on 1st February 2012 having been convicted at an earlier hearing, Wilkins was sent to prison for 18 months for the following offence: 1. Affray 2. Having offensive weapon 3. Destroy / damage property (value of damage #5000 or less – offence against criminal damage act 1971 only) x 2 4. Theft shop / stall The Crown Prosecution Service Crown Prosecutor was Mr Stephen Brown the officer in the case was PC Tune

Kendall a 26 yr old male from Wakefield was sent to prison for 24 months.
At Leeds Crown Court on 1st February 2012 having been convicted at an earlier hearing, Kendall was sent to prison for 24 months for the following offence: 1. Affray 2. Having offensive weapon 3. Destroy / damage property (value of damage #5000 or less – offence against criminal damage act 1971 only) x 2 The Crown Prosecution Service Crown Prosecutor was Mr Stephen Brown the officer in the case was PC Tune.

Barry Kendall
Kazmi a 20 yr old male from Wakefield has been sent to prison for 42 months.
At Leeds Crown Court on 31st January 2012 having been convicted at an earlier hearing, Kazmi was sent to prison for 42 months for the following offence: 1. Supply a controlled drug of class A – crack Cocaine. X 2 The Crown Prosecution Service Crown Prosecutor was Mr Philip Adams, the officer in the case was DS Farrar.

Joseph James Corolan 37 years of Bierley, Bradford was given 3 years and 9 months imprisonment at Bradford Cown Court on the 2nd February 2012.
Joseph James Corolan 37 years of Bierley, Bradford was given 3 years and 9 months imprisonment at Bradford Cown Court on the 2nd February 2012. Corolan was given his sentence by Judge Benson for the offences of 1) Possess Class A controlled drug, namely cocaine with intent to supply 2) Obtaining a money transfer by deception 3) Possessing a firearm without certificate. The officers in the case were PC 867 Luxton and PC 3203 Anastasiades. The Crown Prosecution, crown prosecutor was Mr Rodney Mellor Jameson QC.

Joseph James Carolan
Khan of Leeds was sent to prison for 14 months at Leeds Crown Court.
Usman Ali Khan, 21 years of Osmondthorpe, Leeds was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment on the 27th january at Leeds Crown Court for 2 Offences of Fraud. The Officer in the case was PC 3841 Pitts. The Crown Prosecutor was Mr Christopher Tehrani. Detective Inspector Jo Morgan, Holbeck CID, “Fraudsters who target businesses make a career out of blighting our honest, hard-working traders by eating into their profits and increasing their insurance premiums. We’re always keen to put a stop to these people, and sentences like this should send a warning to those responsible that we will pull out all the stops to catch them.”
